Laid out on ten acres of serene landscape that opens up to expanse oceanfront views, Aston Kaanapali Shores immerses you in the “quintessential Hawaiian experience.” Unwind in tropical gardens with cascading waterfalls, take a dip in the oceanfront or garden pools, and dine al fresco with stunning views of Molokai and Lanai - all without ever leaving the property. Additional on-site amenities include an activities desk, fitness center and spa, two jet spas, free introductory SCUBA lessons, a year-round kids program, and cultural activities that include hula and ukulele lessons.
Our original room which was booked through a timeshare company was a first floor garden view which was a bit disappointing. However, we paid for a nice upgrade to the 9th floor ocean view room where we could see across to Molokai and watch the turtles feeding in the shallows every day during low tide. Our room was 906. The last numbers get smaller as they get closer to the ocean.
The resort is clean and great service at the front desk and throughout the week when we had questions. The room was cleaned and new linens mid week.
There is a sundries shop on property with nice souvenirs, coffee choices, alcohol, and ice, and also a clothing store with some nice Hawaiian offerings.
The family pool was a delight one afternoon even though we had no children with us. It is large enough to not feel crowded.
We gathered for the sunset view everyday down by the adult pool. The beach is fairly small.
This property is about 30 minutes from the Kahului airport and an easy 5-10 minutes from Lahaina.
budget-friendly luxury in West Maui
Spent a week in a very nice junior suite with a gorgeous view of the main pool and the ocean. The fully outfitted kitchen was a huge plus. The resort grounds are beautifully maintained. The main pool is perfect for families, and the other one (adjacent to the bar) was a de facto adults-only space most of the week we were there -- perfect. Resort staff were very friendly and made everything easy. If you need something that you can't find at the on-site convenience store, there's an ABC store (the Hawaiian answer to 7-11) a short walk away, and a grocery store across the street. There are also several inexpensive options for food within walking distance. We loved our time here, and would book again.
Great views all around
Had a great time. Stayed in a junior suite w a kitchen and it was really perfect. Patio had the perfect view. Would recommend it to others. They conveniently have a coffee shop, store and restaurant. Add right next to a food truck lot!
Our whole trip was an excellent experience! Everyone made us feel like we were special, from the bell hop, to the person in reservations, to the folks at the pool. The room view was overlooking the large pool. We could watch the sunset every night! The happy hour drinks were fantastic!
Best Resort in Maui!
Look no further - This Resort has everything you need! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. One of the ladies at the check in desk remembered us from previous trips (despite our masks) and seemed genuinely happy to have us back! The rooms are super clean and spacious. There are 2 pools to choose from or the beach is right there to enjoy. The Restaurant offers a nice variety to choose from and honestly, they have the best Mai Tai's on the island! We have been coming here for over 10 years, sometimes twice a year and we've already booked another trip for March during Whaling season. Love this place!
