Aston Mahana at Kaanapali is a tranquil tropical retreat that takes full advantage of its beautiful Northern Kaanapali Beach setting. Guests rave about the beautiful landscaping and decor, but it’s the ocean that is truly the star of the show. Every suite boasts floor-to-ceiling oceanfront views that make you feel as if you’re floating above the Pacific. Each unit includes a full kitchen, washer, and dryer unit, and breezy balconies. Enjoy all the comforts of home, with breathtaking views of Lanai and Molokai as an added bonus.
The grounds are well maintained. A few steps and you can have a swim and snorkel. The staff are very attentive to our needs and very friendly. The view from the lanai is more than enough if you want to see the sunset. The smell of the sea and the sound of the waves is something that we missed when we came back home. Supplies for the kitchen and dining is ample. Cooked a few meals when we were there. We were there when the lockdown and stay home mandate took effect. But the place makes you feel like you’re in a different place. Sun and sea a few steps away. There’s a spa next to the pool and you can just relax and watch the sunset. The pool is quite small but who really needs it when your close to the beach. A second visit to Maui and staying again in this place is a plan in the making already. Thank you to all that made our stay memorable.
Whale watching in Paradise
My husband and I just spent a wonderful 10 days in luxurious condo unit 914 on the 9th floor of the Mahana. Higher is better during whale season; load up with plenty of food, beverages and snacks and you can spend an entire day watching the whales if you so choose. We stayed in the unit a couple of our days, but every day we saw many spouts while eating breakfast!
From the first moment you walk into the Mahana you feel welcomed by the gracious front desk staff. Unit 914 is outfitted with everything you need. You can hunker down, or take off for the day with the cooler and ice provided for your use. If you want to do some of your own cooking, the kitchen has top of the line GE Prestige appliances as well as a rice cooker, blender, coffee maker, etc. Waking up to 100% Kona coffee purchased from the Times Market is bliss; carrying it onto the lanai to watch whales is even better. The living room is large and beautifully furnished, and the king size bed is softly firm with comfy pillows. The bedroom and living room have floor to ceiling windows so you can wake up and watch whales from your bed if you wish. Having a washer and dryer in the unit makes it easy to pack just a few clothes leaving room to take home all your shopping treasures that remind you of your memorable Mahana stay.
Access to the Kaanapali boardwalk right next to the parking lot made the few hundred foot walk to Dukes for Happy Hour so easy. We also were able to take morning walks directly onto the beach from the pool area. Sometimes we headed back to the condo on the boardwalk as there are many access points from the beach. Also it is easy to walk down the driveway and across the street to the Times Market shopping Center for restaurants, urgent care, shops and the market. The Mahana is in a great location!!
I can’t imagine a better place to stay while in Maui than unit 914 at the Aston Mahana! Aloha!
Winter 2020 stay at Aston Mahana

BEST PLACE TO STAY ON MAUI!
I stay at the Mahana every time I come to Maui. Every room is ocean-front, and the views are incredible (Lanai and Molokai in the distance, whales and turtles swimming just off the beach, and beautiful sunsets every evening). The property is located at the end of a private lane so there is no traffic noise. It is an intimate property; not a big, busy resort. A nice grocery store and other businesses are within walking distance. 808 Mopeds is just down the street also- a great place to rent scooters and mopeds. The staff at the Mahana are very friendly and efficient. The rooms are either studios, one-bedroom units, or two-bedroom units. On my visit last month, I reserved two studios for our adults kids and spouses, and my husband and I stayed in a one-bedroom unit. That worked out perfect because our unit included a living room for entertaining. Every unit includes a full kitchen so we didn't have to eat every meal out. In fact, our meals on the lanai where some of our favorites.
Best place for comfort and watching whales
We've stayed in this property several times. It is right on the beach, each unit has floor to ceiling windows, and they have very nice furnishings. It's comfortable and quiet. The location is excellent for watching whales from inside or from the lanai. The location is within walking distance of several restaurants and a grocery store. It's convenient to several towns and a short drive to Lahaina. The staff is friendly and very responsive to requests. We'll continue to stay here in the future.
The Hawaiian word Mahana means ‘twins' and was chosen to represent the two “twin” towers that make up our property. Together with stunning views of Molokai and Lanai (the two islands that can be seen from our resort) Mahana is a special name for our place in paradise.
