At The Maui Banyan, you don’t have to compromise. With two pools, a tennis court, a swimming beach across the street, and a range of unit types (rooms and condos), you can have
everything you need on vacation, including the satisfaction that you are getting a great value. Our condos come equipped with kitchens and laundry or take a true break from it all and stay in a hotel room. You may never want to leave the property, but if you do be sure to enjoy nearby golf courses, great restaurants and shops in neighboring Kihei and Wailea.
Pleasant enough, good location but needs working lifts
(Greater Melbourne, Australia)
Aston at Maui Banyan is more of an apartment complex than a hotel as such. My room had some basic cooking facilities (a microwave oven). Location is great - directly opposite a sandy, life-guarded beach, shops & restaurants a shortish walk to the north. Drawbacks were inefficient air-conditioner, & lack of working elevators - had to drag my luggage to my room on 4th floor. My lock did have lifts - but sealed off for some reason. Receptionist at front desk very helpful - used her own phone to e-mail some documents I needed to send off (happy to give her a tip). Reception not open until 7:00am though - inconvenient for early departures. I didn't dislike the place but with a few improvements it could have been much better.
A Resort for the Middle Class in Maui
The Aston at Maui’s Banyan was a nice priced resort. The rooms were spacious with a large deck. The Aston was not lavish but very comfortable and had a great walking distance to the beach. Several shopping and restaurants within walking distance.
This property is exceptional and the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. I reserved the one bedroom one bath standard and it’s gorgeous. Full stocked kitchen with washer and dryer. This was my first time staying in Kihei I have always stayed in kaanapali but never again. I’m always coming back to the Maui Banyan. I have already booked them again for April. The beach across the street is beautiful with great snorkeling and sea turtles. South Kihei road has all the best food and stores for grocery shopping or dining out. The Maui banyan is a perfect location for all your needs
Spent a week here on our vacation club. Plan with Tan
Beautiful grounds, nice pool, and very convenient location. The beach is right across the street, ONE MINUTE Walk and has life guards. The surf is on the mild side and the beach sand is pleasant to walk on. We spent every evening down here watching the sun set. The pool area had five propane cookers (weber) with all the tools and free gas.
Our room was wonderful. All the towels, sheets, kitchen supplies that you could ever need. Had problems trying to figure out the tv and stuff. Way to much for us senior to handle. They had everything on this TV service. But we managed to log into the netflix and found the UVA basketball game. While on the island, rent a car. So much to drive to and see.
25 things you must know about Aston at the Maui Banyan
This place saved my vacation.
They say you don't stay in your condo room often when on vacation.
My wife developed a severe sore throat the day of our arrival. Both of us were recovering in our spacious condo for the next 2 full days, except for trips grocery shopping and eating at restaurants.
We were in room B-203, a one bed room unit half way up the B building on the exit road bump. Wife could barely talk for two days, and sat on the sofa, watching TV, with a view of the ocean through the covered lanai in the background.
This was our sixth visit to Maui in the past 6 years, and we've seen them all, and our second visit to this condo, having previously stayed on the 3rd floor of P building facing the gardens.
The 20' x 24' or 480 square foot unit, has a single bathroom with bathtub, tiny bathroom sink, closet electronic safe, two 39" flat screen TVs, living room area, dining room area, washer/dryer with detergent.
Sliding doors with glass windows separating bedroom from living room, let in light early in the morning.
Two noisy old fashioned window ACs, one in the bedroom, and one in the living room. And we needed them, even though we were on the second floor, as temperatures in the high 80s the entire time we stayed in early November.
Fully equipped kitchen with all dishware and utensils provided. You need to provide all condiments. Full size refrigerator, four electric burner flat surface, full size oven, microwave oven, coffee maker, dishwasher with detergent.
Lanais for one bedroom units are 10' long, and between 3' and 6' in width, enough for a four chair round table.
Our room had a connecting door to studio 203A. When the connecting door was open the unit becomes a two bedroom unit.
Now if you stay in a 10' x 24' studio or hotel unit, there will be only a bedroom, bathroom, no washer dryer, and only a mini refrigerator, microwave oven, one TV, one AC, and a 3' wide lanai with two chairs.
Free continuous wifi. Wife was also able to connect with her Kindle tablets.
Housekeeping came only once during our six day stay, to change bed sheets, towels, mop the kitchen and bathroom floors, and empty the garbage. Closet had 6 clean beach towels and 12 clean bath towels.
Rooms in the five main buildings either face the parking garage, or the garden area with the two pools.
Units on the ground floor of the main buildings facing the parking garage have no ocean view, and no privacy, as exposed to passing pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and bugs along the ground. Units facing the garage on the north side do get a nice breeze, while sitting in the shaded lanai, sheltered from the sun on the south side.
Parked the car within 100 feet of our room in the parking lot in front, or in front of building C.
People in the main four story buildings park in the three story parking structure, with no elevator. Bottom ground floor of parking garage only has a handful of parking spaces for nonowners, as the others reserved by owners. Can be a 500 foot walk from the top floor of the garage to your unit on the top floor of the main building.
Two swimming pools and two hot tubs on the opposite side of the main building as the parking garage. Pools use coded keypad. Unlighted tennis court next to back of garage faces east west, instead of the usual north south.
