We really enjoyed staying at Aqua Aloha. From the moment we walked we were welcomed by Hawaiian hospitality. The hotel is in a great location. The room was comfortable & had a great view. The breakfast was delicious.

We stayed here for 5 nights, the staff were very friendly and attentive..the best feature of this hotel. The pool n cabana were closed most days yellow tape across gate. The dining room for breakfast was insufficient we had to sit outside in reception area . The breakfast itself was disappointing not much choice only 2 cereals cut up oranges and apples and bread and pancakes however there was plenty of asian cuisine. Only are here once.
Our room was tiny 5m x 3m had to keep moving cases to get around bed. No balcony only shutter Windows but only 2 opened. Air con is partially blocked by cupboard that TV sits on. Pot coffee in room we used on day 1 and its been sitting there ever since.Rooms are extremely noisy shutters don't block any noise sirens, doors banging ,neighbors if your a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Bathroom is old and tiny and although very clean there is no ventalation after toilet use.
Location is good close to beach and plenty of shopping
Front desk Staff are very friendly .
Got to the hotel at 6 or 7am and check in was 3pm. I had to leave my bags there at the counter which they accepted till checkin. I paid for my booking from home which included a breakfast amungst other things. There is a tax that you need to pay at check in.
I asked that as i was checking that day and paying tax for that day could i have breakfast for that day...they said no as checkin was at 3pm. Very dissatisfied as Im paying tax for that day!
In regard to check-in i was asked for $25 a night tax but remembered my paperwork stated $20 so check your paper work.
The room was an ok size for 3 star but there were some issues. There is a sliding door to the balcony that doesnt lock with no fly screen. The aircon works but is a little noisy.
I had troubles with my electric key and the light's at times.
The one thing i really didnt like was the neighboring car park. Waikiki i found very safe but i didn't like people loitering around the car park at night.
There is a pool but its small and not functioning for this period.
The staff were on the main ok. There is a free shuttle to Ala Moana but you need to walk to another hotel my hotel forgot to mention or give me a ticket for the shuttle.
Its 3 star and generally ok. If your on a budget and prices are cheap its ok.
The hotel is, but...

OK if you just want to stay overnight and get out often. Breakfast was just horrible, no cheese, ham, tuna, salmon, whatever a Western country citizen would like to see on a sandwich. Instead there was a lot of Asian cuisine, which I don't like. Continental breakfast? Yes, Asia is a continent, too. In my room the air conditioning was placed right at my bedside - ridiculous, I couldn't do anything not to feel the cold breeze while sleeping, short of turning it off. I had a street-side apartment - it was very noisy up until 3 o'clock AM.
Avoid this hotel unless you are on a cheap budget
Hotel was not what we expected. The website does not match what you are making reservations for. Walls in rooms were dirty, main doors were dirty, bathtubs had major rust and other unknown substances on the faucet, one of our rooms smelled like cigarette smoke and there was a burn mark in one of the blankets. Also had a very bad experience with customer service during breakfast. Definitely not worth the money you spend on this hotel.
