we ware staying in small (20m2) room.
the room was clean and maintance, but you can not get perfect room for a 100$.
the last evening we saw two bugs in the bathroom.
a location was good to reach waiki and the local buses stops close.
the stuff was very friendly and the breakfast was fine. in the lobby there was also the water to file up.
they could clean in front of the hotel, because there was a lot of waste in front of the hotel.
Nice, but not again for us
The Hotelrooms are nice and clean.
Its close to waikiki beach :)
Why i give this bad rating:
As we checked in, we asked for an late ckeck out, at 11 PM.
The woman an the counter told us, that we had to pay 75 Dollars and could check out at 11 PM.
This was great. But at the check out day we get told, that this was a misunderstanding, and that we have to leave the hotel at 7PM. There ist nothing they can do about it.
it was their mistake and they made it to our problem.
-the breakfast is horrible. Never had such a bad breakfast. Cheap products prepared without effort.
-there is no fitnessroom. There are some Training Tools at the ground floor (outside from the lobby).
Stayed here in September 2018.
Booked this through booking.com
Rooms are old and dated. Air conditioning is so noicy and doesn't cool the room.
Made the mistake of booking a superior room thinking this should be nice. However superior room here does not give you a lounge to sit on or a kitchen unit.
Asked to be upgraded to a deluxe room had to wait for a week for a change of room.
While waiting for the change in the superior room had a scheduled visit from the pest man. Who came through the room to spray for pests.
Finally shifted to the deluxe room. Which gives you a lounge to sit on and a kitchen sink. The mini fridge is in a cupboard and the smell every time the fridge was opened was disgusting.
The accommodation also came with breakfast. Avoid avoid the so called buffet breakfast was terrible only went once as opted to go elsewhere. The staff are the rudest you will ever come across. The food was terrible. You are even expected to clear your own table.
Would not recommend this hotel. Would not stay here again.
False advertising of facilities stay at your own risk
(Gold Coast Qld)
Probably the worst place we've ever stayed by far. No customer service other than tour information. Certainly no general knowledge of the area when asked to some staff.
They advertised as featuring disability friendly i.e. personal disability lift as well as hydraulic chair lift for pool access. That's the only reason I booked this hotel and cost of course suited our budget and not too far to walk to beach with wheelchair, advertised as 3-4☆ on booking dot com.
The lift worked once going down to street and never again during our stay nor did they bother to fix it or attempt to. The ramp out front stops at steps. Ramp in side says no prams or♿ disability. No wheel chair can get up or down the step to ramp that goes nowhere.
I went for a swim in the pool which I thought I could manage to get in by myself, with aid of the handrail, however the top step, which looked achievable, certainly wasn't,which I unfortunately found out was way too steep and felt like it nearly ripped my leg off. The pain was excruciating.
There was no signage to say' beware steep step'anywhere!
After trying to ease the pain by swimming and moving about in the water. I needed to get out. I couldn't get out no matter how I tried and asked for the hydro lift to be available to staff in outside area. I asked if it worked,as I may need it. He told me "yes, it did".I asked for help.
Eventually someone came,no communication to me whatsoever. Took out the battery after punching buttons. The battery didn't work.
Three & half hours later(which in that amount of time caused eczema on my body and limbs from pool chemicals, i later found out)When i complained about the lack of communication to me or husband of what was going on,I was told battery needed to be 25% to work and it was only at 17%. All this time the battery still wasn't charged nor was there a spare. Throughout this period of time there was no communication from any of the staff. Only after I and my husband complained, to any staff walking by,and his, numerous visits to the service desk, to ask for assistance or at least some sort of communication, did the duty day manager finally appear. A Spanish guy I was told can't remember his name. His problem solving was ridiculous. No other staff assisted either. He preceded to tell me that they "never use the lift, maybe twice in 50 weeks". "That this was a...(he didn't finish the sentence)that there's other hotels like Trump Tower and high end ones down the road etc I could have stayed at". A full on discussion proceeded for about 15 minutes about the area and low sociological housing development etc taking place. That had nothing to do with me.
After telling him i needed to get out and to get something for me to stand on as I couldn't get a leg up onto that top step as I injured my muscle when i got in. I told him to get a brick, so i could climb up to that top step. I'm 5'2" not 7'. He asked if i got in myself and i told him i had as it looked like a normal step. I tried to check, to feel but fell as the reflection was deceiving.
He disappeared for a while and brought back a wooden crate. He said "will this do? Try it" Which I replied "you try it". He didn't but expected me to. I had get out with the help of my husband and him lifting me onto it, then out. A risk! I was scared. It was a flimsy pinewood, crate that if my footing was wrong i could have snapped the pinewood and gone straight through. I that told him there should be a signage.
6 days later the crate was still there on the side of pool. The hydraulic lift into the pool hadn't been fixed neither had the disability lift to carpark. Or any signage placed there. This could have happened to anyone. There are other steps built into the pool wall, that kids could manage but not too many adults could. Certainly not disabled or elderly. I swim for exercise as I cannot walk very well.
Yet they still take money for disability false advertising. There were quite a few guests staying there that had assistance aids e.g. wheel chairs n walkers. The gym is non existent it's one piece of equipment in outside in open space n weather, next to dining area.
7 hours people waited on 27th September,2018 just to check into rooms due to early morning flight. No communication again.
Breakfast,(don't even bother,go down the road,it was disgusting with rude miserable and disgusting service)advertised as all you can eat,you wouldn't want to unless your Asian as its designed for Asian palate. Scrambled eggs n noodles which looked like a bit of onion or cabbage nothing else, spongey pancakes every day. Stale bread,n day old cakes. Red cordial instead of fruit juice. The only thing descent is room cleaning service. Even the transfer man was lazy, didn't want to lift luggage let alone speak politely or smile. The rooms were as small as cupboards with mirrors on two walls like an FBI investigation room only twenty times smaller. Shocking place to stay!
It should of been better
Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki: I stayed for a week. the breaskfast sucked. No bottled water in the room. No tea in the room. It's an old hotel and it shows the carpet looks very old and the wall paper is falling off the wall. No set time when they cleaned the rooms. I would leave every morning at 7am and return around 1pm and my room still wasn't cleaned. I was out walking around, swiming and I want to rest/relax but I couldn't because I room was not ready.
The best thing about the hotel was the price, the people who worked there were very nice and the location for me... I didn't have to rent a car - everything I want to see and do was in walking distance.
I would stay there again because of the price and location only.
