Stayed here our first time to Maui and loved it so much we stayed here on our second stay. I would stay here a third time. They have everything I wanted. Wish the mattresses were more comfortable though.
Beautiful location for family beach trip
Wonderful family vacation spot. Beautiful views easy walk to beach. Great on-site gym and laundry. Loved the on-site restaurant and free Trolley to Whalers Village. Beaches are beautiful and safe for children.
Great stay and amazing location
The MKV is a great place to stay as a family. It is well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. The beach is a nice sandy beach but the waves can get pretty high and there is a drop a few feet out. The kids loved playing in the waves. The pool was also clean, big and warm. The MKV is close to everything, within a short drive to Whalers Village and Lahaina town and they also offer a trolley to Whalers Village. You can also take the beach walk to Whalers Village which is only about a 15-20 minute walk. We stayed in a great condo rented directly from the owner. I would recommend renting directly from an owner so you know exactly which condo you will get. Many rooms are not renovated and very old. So renting directly from the hotel can leave you with a really dingy room. Plus you can find better deals renting from the owners directly. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Overall we would return.
Had such an amazing stay here even with some things still closed or closing times early due to covid i would still recommend this place great people friendly smiles everywhere ..Clean beach and pools. helpful staff makes for an amazing vacation
Know Before You Go
I try to do a lot of research before I book my vacations. My family prefers a hotel or condo where the sleeping and living area are separate. This is what I thought I was getting with our one bedroom, ocean view room.
This resort was built in the 1970’s and for the most, it looks it. It’s not that the grounds aren’t beautiful or that the rooms haven’t been touched up, but when you look at the air vents, the curling paint, and the chipped tiles, it shows it age.
Still, not a big deal. What was the biggest disappointment was that the bedroom and the living room weren’t separate (at least at the price point available through Costco at the time of our booking.) I think at one time, there may have been an accordioning-folding partition.
The staff however was friendly and helpful. The beach is amazing and the Castaway restaurant and bar were nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I just missed not having two separate areas.
