Kelvin Bloom, CEO

Kelvin Bloom, CEO

Bloom has over 30 years experience in the hotel and condominium resort industry. At Aqua-Aston, he oversees all new business developments and the company’s expanding management portfolio. He has garnered numerous accolades including being recognized as Industry “Brand Leader” by American Hotel & Lodging Association and Lodging Magazine, receiving the “State Leadership Award” from American Hotel & Lodging Association, and being named “Hotel Executive of the Year” by Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association. Bloom sits on the Board of Directors for Hawaii Tourism Authority, Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association, and Waikiki Improvement Association. Prior to joining Aqua-Aston, Bloom was the founding president of Castle Resorts & Hotels and COO of The Castle Group.

Matt Bailey, President and COO

Matt Bailey, President and COO

Bailey oversees Aqua-Aston’s daily operations and is also responsible for the company’s growth strategy. Prior to Aqua-Aston, Bailey was the managing director at the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa and was responsible for overseeing over 1,500 employees and $250MM in revenue. Bailey previously worked for three years at Aston as Senior Vice President of Operations, and has held key management positions at hotels and resorts throughout Hawaii, Utah, California, Texas, and Nevada. During his time as Vice President and General Manager at the Sundance Resort in Utah, the Utah Hotel & Lodging Association recognized him as “Hotelier of the Year.” Bailey is a board member of the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association and the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.

Ed Skapinok, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Revenue

Ed Skapinok, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Revenue

Skapinok is a business professional with more than 30 years of experience working with a diverse group of global brands, owner-operators, and third party management companies. At Aqua-Aston, Skapinok leads the sales, marketing, and revenue optimization teams, drives customer acquisition initiatives, and fosters relations with key stakeholders and business partners. Since October 2014, Skapinok has served as chair of the sales advisory board for Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI). In 2016, HSMAI named him one of the “Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Optimization.”

Janice Wakatsuki, Senior Vice President Human Resources

Janice Wakatsuki, Senior Vice President Human Resources

Wakatsuki provides human resources leadership and oversight relating to employee/labor relations, compensation and benefits, and recruitment/hiring for managed properties of Aqua-Aston and its corporate office. Prior to this, Wakatsuki was the corporate director of human resources for Outrigger Enterprises Group.

Shari Fujita, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Shari Fujita, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Fujita oversees the company’s accounting and finance departments and has an exceptional background in hospitality finance. Prior to joining Aqua-Aston, Fujita was Vice President of Accounting at Outrigger Enterprises Group and previously worked at the State of Hawaii’s House Committee on Finance (1997 Legislative Session) and KPMG Peat Marwick.

Chris Port, Chief Development Officer

Widely recognized as a seasoned leader in the global hospitality industry, Port has more than 30 years of corporate investment, acquisition, finance, and real estate development experience. He is responsible for new business development and the expansion of Aqua-Aston Hospitality, in both existing and new markets, and the optimization of our current portfolio of hotels and resorts found in Hawaii, the Continental U.S., and Costa Rica

Lesli Reynolds, Senior Vice President Operations

Lesli Reynolds, Senior Vice President Operations

Reynolds is responsible for global operations across five owned brands, as well as the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton and Curio Collection by Hilton; developing strategic plans, brand standards, and standard operating procedures that require enterprise-wide coordination; and supporting new business development, including the implementation of growth strategies.

Cheyne Manalo,  Assistant Vice President, Information Technology

Cheyne Manalo, Assistant Vice President, Information Technology

Manalo is responsible for overseeing implementation of the IT strategy for the company. In this role, he manages senior staff in the delivery of IT services, including application services, telecommunications, desktop technology, and help desk services. Manalo is also responsible for directing the development, implementation, and maintenance of all application systems for the company.
