Centrally located in the heart of downtown Kahului, on the shores of picturesque Kahului Bay, the Maui Beach Hotel is just minutes from Kahului Airport, shopping, beaches and golf courses. Rooms and suites decorated in a lovely island style, offer ocean, garden or city views. In addition to an on-site restaurant, lounge, swimming pool, and fitness center, there are meeting rooms and a ballroom, making it a perfect location for business conferences and weddings.
Started by picking up the rent a car. Next we went to costco to load up
Weather was perfect, this was a rest and relaxing trip, we still worked out and ran along the beach
Was great , with 8 bbq to do the fixings. Room had full kitchen with a stacked washer dryer
Resort was close to town, with buses running hourly into town
Safeway’s outlet mall, and food of choice was down town
It does the job
Minutes from the airport and across the street from a mall where you can find anything for much less price than touristic places. It is ok for the price, run-down definitely but clean, rooms are clean and have everything you need, the restaurant only good food is breakfast (overpriced tough for the food...) Staff is friendly but don't expect much, you can save $$ staying here, most tours will pick you from here and the location is actually quite convenient to visit from here any of the major places to see in Maui. Nice rooftop pool.

Our agent booked this hotel and they will be informed to do their homework on our return. By the way the agent was 'Trailfinders" voted one of the best in the UK. (not impressed}
The hotel was dated, grubby, and the room smelt musty. One night was too long. We then pay a $15 resort fee for what? It was apparently already included in the negotiated room rate. We would have left but arrival from airport was very late.
There is no beach although the location is attractive.
Do not stay here if you have any standards. It does Maui a disservice.
Very nice staff eager to make your stay memorable. The beachfront view from out room was spectacular. Nice shopping mall within walking distance. Sea turtles were right in the water swimming with you. If the ocean was rough the pool was just right. Can't wait to go back!
Not Staying Here Ever Again
Reserved a standard room with 2 beds a couple of months ago through a third party website. When we arrived, front desk clerk said they only had rooms with 1 king bed available. That was a problem because there were 4 of us. It took awhile but she was eventually able to shuffle some rooms around and gave us a room with 2 beds.
We went to the room and opened the door only to be greeted by hot air and a musty smell. The room was dated and worn. The window AC unit was off so we turned it on and dropped our bags and left to enjoy the rest of the afternoon in Maui.
After enjoying a bit of Maui, we returned, showered, and got ready to rest for the next days activities. As we lay in bed, watching TV, my son jumps out of the bed and says he saw a bug. I told him to smash it. I was thinking I was just going to see a tiny cockaroach which ate common in Hawaii. But I saw a tiny bug and upon closer inspection, I discovered one of my worst nightmares. It was a BED BUG.
I yelled at everyone to get out of the bed and grab all the bags and get ready to leave. I took a few pictures and went to the lobby to complain. As I was walking downstairs my son found more bugs and texted more pictures.
I got to the front desk an alerted the front desk clerk and showed her the pictures. She didnt seem alarmed at all, but she went to get her supervisor. The supervisor apologized and offered another room but the hotel was sold out. He then offered me another room on another property in Kihei about 30 min away. I declined because I didnt want to drive that far. He kept looking and after about 15 min he was able to find us a room in the Hotel next door, Maui Seaside.
We left the hotel and in the parking lot we shook the crap out of our bags and clothes hoping none of those nasty BED BUGS followed us to the next room. We get to our room in the hotel next door (which was much more well maintained and cleane) and we tore apart the room to make sure there were no bugs there too. By the time we were done, it was midnight. Finally, we got to lay down only to not be able to sleep because of paranoia. I felt as if something was crawling on me all night.
We stayed a couple of more days only to have our vacation dampered by paranoia and inconvenience. We finally get home and drop all the bags and clothes in the garage and disinfect everything. Washed everything we could and dryed in High heat. Whatever we could not clean we threw away.
I contacted the third party website later for a refund. They in turn called the hotel. After waiting a few weeks, we get word from the third party website that the hotel declined our request for a refund.
So much for customer service. We will never return to the Maui Beach Hotel and I will tell all my friends and family not to go there either. If you are reading this, I would advise you the same and stay away from this hotel."
