Centrally located in the heart of downtown Kahului, on the shores of picturesque Kahului Bay, the Maui Beach Hotel is just minutes from Kahului Airport, shopping, beaches and golf courses. Rooms and suites decorated in a lovely island style, offer ocean, garden or city views. In addition to an on-site restaurant, lounge, swimming pool, and fitness center, there are meeting rooms and a ballroom, making it a perfect location for business conferences and weddings.
Upon arival we were hit with a $15 a day amenities fee which is non negotiable and definitely adds up when you’re staying for some time.( should be just incorporated in the total booking not on arrival) Just to use wifi, dvds, and various other insignificant things. Yes wifi is helpful, however not needed when you’ve already paid your mobile provider or purchased an international sim here.
I wouldn’t book if you were planning to use the beach as it isn’t maintained at all and has rubbish everywhere. So don’t upgrade to a beach view, hardly worth it!!
Aircon units were extremely noisy and are needed if you want to sleep that’s if you can get to sleep first.
Key cards were an issue as they didn’t work half the time getting into your half of the building and would take several turns.
Kitchen service wasn’t too flash but food was cheep and convenient being at the hotel.
On the plus the pool was good and the backyard looked lovely and maintained. Movies were recent from the DVD box however not too many copies available.
Overall not a bad stay but for the additional surcharges could’ve gotten a better hotel with a much nicer beach view.
First stop on our stay
(St. John's, Canada)
We stayed at this hotel our first night in Maui. There's nothing special about it but it is on the beach, you can have a nice view of the ocean and cruise ships. I booked online and thought it was prepaid but fee was due on sign in. They were nice enough to accept cash but advised they preferred to have a credit card on file. It was clean, quiet and never had any issues
For the price and centrally located you can’t beat this. From the looks of it the hotel was refreshed and it was clean and had no stale smells. On a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best I would rank it a 5.
I arrived in the evening and went straight out to the restaurant. Service was lovely. Dinner was average low. It’s a buffet system and the food was not real tasty except the sesame balls, that was GOOD.
I ordered a MaiTai that was a way too strong, it could have wake up a dead.
The hotel is located next to a freeway. And the rooms are not well isolated. You can hear the cars and people passing by.
Curtains are old and spotted with stains marks you do not want to touch them.
Overall is clean but very old and mal functioning. The shower hose was liking and broken. The toilet takes forever to refill.
Really not much interested.
We celebrated our anniversary, late Father’s Day and going away dinner. The food was great as well as the place. Pam the server was phenomenal, genuinely accommodating, friendly, and very professional in all aspects.
