Love the Surfjack
Thank you for a great experience!! Extremely happy we could borrow lounge chairs for the beach! The bikes were also a plus!! Great location to stay since it was so close to all the spots I wanted to go to. I’d love to come back!!
A gem in Waikiki

I was in Honolulu for my daughter’s graduation from UH. I arrived and started at a different hotel. My daughter loves the Surfjack and has done some events there such as Yoga on the roof. So as I was walking I went to take a look. I instantly felt at home. After speaking with Dexter, Guest Services Manager, I knew this was the place for me. I felt right at home immediately and changed hotels. My stay there was amazing. The place is clean and the decor is outstanding. But the people who work there are what really make this boutique hotel stand out. Chatting with Sai throughout the day and Julia in the morning while getting coffee. The restaurant, Mahina and Suns was terrific. The coffee shop, Olive and Oliver was also convenient and delicious. From this point on the Surfjack is my go to place and Dexter is my go to guy when in Waikiki. The hotel is fantastic but the people is what sends it over the top.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a couple of times now and I still can’t get enough of it. I booked a one bed bungalow and was upgraded to a suite. I then inquired about touring the penthouse for my next stay and managed to upgrade to it for a nominal fee. The one bedroom penthouse is the place to be. It has beautiful views of the area and features a private lanai and spacious living area. If the penthouse isn’t in your budget, the standard rooms are a treat as well. The entire hotel is an urban oasis shielded from the crowds of Waikiki. The lounge areas downstairs and the pool area are the perfect places to meet friends for friendly banter or just relax and read a book. There is so much attention to detail in the design of the hotel, it’s a work of art. What keeps me coming back is the uniqueness of the hotel and the friendly faces of the employees. I travel to Honolulu often and this is the place to stay.
Fantastic location, friendly staff, no frills hotel

loved the vibe of this hotel. I would definitely stay again as they acted on problems really quickly when I had some issues at the beginning. I think that really shows how service orientated this hotel prides itself on and I would highly recommend it to all travellers. The location was within walking distance to central Waikiki as well as popular food joints.
Good launching pad for excursions, but not the greatest space overall.

Right off the bat the front desk was very warm, friendly and helpful re the property and area. They offered free delicious coffee & cookies; plenty of cool things are included with your $25 hospitality fee. There is a pool right in the middle of hotel entrance which was different/strange, but seems like it’s squeezing too much into a tiny property. There is an overload of trendy interior decorating it gets tacky, but could be used to detract from the inexpensive build out of the hotel. Menu is overpriced , breakfast service is very slow, and arrived cold. But they took care of the situation very well. The bartender & drinks were nice. Cool assortment of drinks. Location is great right in the middle of Waikiki so you’re in walking distance to all things. We got a basic room and it was tiny, enough room to walk around the bed, it’s real tight, but you get a balcony and you’re not there to party in the room anyway. All was clean and decent. Shower corner edge did have mold. If you want a place to drop your bags and head out to eat, shop & adventure this works.
