Spread out and get really comfortable in your own studio or one-bedroom suite at Aqua Pacific Monarch. You’re only a short walk away from the sandy shores of Waikiki beach, shopping and dining at the International Market Place, and all of Waikiki’s hottest spots. After a day full of adventure, come back home to your room to cook a nice meal in either our studio kitchenettes or full kitchen suites, or treat yourself to culinary delights at the on-site restaurant, Jinroku. You will find all you need, right here.
If you want The Hilton, pay for The Hilton. If you want a reasonably priced, clean, comfortable hotel in the best location, stay here! We enjoyed every minute of our stay here, didn't have any problem with the noise (?), and found every member of staff courteous and happy to help. We would book here again in a heartbeat.
We stayed for a night between flights and presumably were therefore not offered one of the better rooms. Ours was on a lower floor and there was plenty of mould on the curtain linings, the bathtub was cracked and the aircon was old, needed earplugs to sleep through and was not up to the job of cooling the room on a hot summer day. Louver windows, normally not visible behind curtains, hadn't been cleaned in a while. Other than those areas the room was clean and the beds comfortable.
A balcony was only about 2 foot wide and unfurnished.
On the plus side, there was a full kitchen including a proper oven, and the hotel was two blocks from the shore. We arrived on an early flight and were able to use a communal sparsely furnished area on the top floor to get changed and repack for the day until our room became available. There are free shuttles to the Ala Moana shopping center. Ours took half an hour to arrive and took another 25 minutes to get there via a very circuitous route. But still, free.
Rooms 6 and 7 on each floor face the city and are likely noisier, especially on floors below 10.
Everything on Waikiki is very expensive and this isn't the only property in the area that benefits from the popularity of the location and limits investment to maximise profit.
Found the staff extremely helpful and friendly and the chap at reception remembered my name despite having met us only once the day before, which was impressive. Transport advice was good.
Overall, OK for a night but we would not be back for a longer stay and would probably avoid Waikiki as the value for money proposition isn't that great.
Condos are the way to go
Stayed in the Aqua Pacific Monarch with my wife for our honeymoon in August 2018, and we couldn't have asked for a better place! Here's why:
Location: 2 short blocks from a less-crowed area of the Waikiki beach, literally a block from an ABC store (like almost everywhere in Waikiki), and has the best Musubi place in Oahu basically in the lobby of the hotel (Musubi Cafe Iyasume).
Rooms: All condos, so all very different I'm sure. However, ours was on the 30th floor with an ocean view, and had a great little patio that a perfect place from which to watch the Aloha Friday fireworks.
Staff: Super attentive, and very friendly. In particular, a staff member named Daniel seemed to always be there to lend a great restaurant recommendation or provide prompt service for our room. There was one day we didn't get our room serviced, and they responded my immediately apologizing, cleaning the room, and sending up a gift basket!
Would love to stay here again, and definitely would recommend!

Comfortable, Clean & Convenient

This is a great hotel; it’s only a two minute walk from the beach, has its own rooftop pool and provides a free shuttle to the nearby shopping mall. All the staff I interacted with were lovely and check in/out was quick and easy. The hotel is very secure with key card access required. Beach towels are available at the front desk for the pool or the beach. The hotel also provides a shuttle (a fee applies) to the airport. I’ve travelled 50 states in 6 months and Hawaii is the only place I’ve been where the bus drivers won’t allow luggage on their buses and what’s worse is that some allow it and some don’t which can make for a very distressing situation; luckily the hotel were able to get me onto a shuttle at the last minute and I’m very grateful to all the staff who helped me.
The rooms are clean with lovely coconut smelling toiletries. There’s a safe in the room to protect valuables and there’s also a kitchenette area which is perfect for making breakfast before a busy day. The only downside is that the fridges don’t include mini freezers so my ice cream melted straight away (I didn’t realise before I bought it). The bed was comfortable and BED BUG FREE and the shower had good pressure, although it was a little stiff to turn on. There’s a little balcony to stand out on where you can see views of the city and the street leading down to the beach. The view from the roof is beautiful!
I enjoyed my stay here and I would definitely come back again in the future. It was very reasonably priced, clean and comfortable for my week long stay and in close proximity to everything I needed including bus routes and restaurants!
