Planned on staying there.

Seemed good from the reviews. Almost booked, then stayed elsewhere. Stopped in for drinks anyway...curious. The Good: Staff The Bad: Unless you are in your 20s/early 30s and up, this is not the place for you or the place for families with young kids. It is what it is and the is, is a great place for young adult liberals. Probably akin to Mecca. If you're over 21 or conservative, even on the fence of being Conservative-stay away. It was clean though.
Visited for 6 nights and it was in a perfect spot, not in the middle of everything and not away outside of the main area. Lots of character and a lovely pool as you can see in the photograph. Close to lots of shops, bars and restaurants and only about 10 minutes walk to Waikiki beach! Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. X
Awesome and cute boutique hotel. Despite not being on the beach, I love this centrally located gem. Service is excellent. All staff are very welcoming and pleasant. Complimentary coffee, beach towels, and internet provided for the daily $25 resort fee. The rooms all have a mini-fridge and lockers to place your valuables. You have to try the on site delicious hotel, Mahina and Sun’s. I always get the naked pig pizza. It’s a must order. Can’t say enough about all the staff. What a wonderful way to experience Aloha! Cheers!

The staff there is so filled with Aloha... Sai and the others really made me feel at home they went out of the way for us. I never seen such hard working people they are not in the air condition they are out there in the heat because its not enclosed. we are talking about July in Hawaii when the trades sometimes blow in hot air. I don't know how they do it and stay nice. I was able to talk with their manager who is also so very nice . It was clean and comfortable and a very trendy place . It was a nice stay and near to a lot of places within a block of Kalakaua Ave with great little places to shop. Free coffee and water and the pool was fun for the kids. There is also a restaurant downstairs that you can place your order with while at the pool. There are little convenient stores close by that you are able to buy sandwiches, salads and fruit from which was godsend when you have a bunch of children to feed. I had the one bedroom suite which was nice and clean I wish though that there was a bar sink rather than using the bathroom sink to wash my child's Sippy cup. . Cant say enough about the staff who are great . . The valet parking is high too high that was the one drawback. the air condition in the room was great ...
Great hotel! Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the Surfjack. Within walking distance of lots of restaurants, shopping, and Waikiki Beach. Highly recommend this hotels to couples or families. It has a very trendy pool area, great open air bar/restaurant in the lobby area, clean room, comfortable beds, and is located near great shopping, food, and Waikiki Beach, all within walking distance of the hotel.
