Great family place to stay

We stayed at the Ilikai for a week with our two middle school daughters. We stayed in one of the suites with a partial ocean view and had a great balcony to sit on in the mornings and evenings, in fact we ate many of our meals on the balcony. Room was great and the hotel amenities were very nice. Would stay here again and recommend for any one looking for a place to stay during their visit. Very central location to many shops and restaurants as well as the beach.

Second time staying here. Love it. Choose a refurbish unit for sure, they're are plenty with lots of pictures . Small but quiet, secure and close to everything you need. Restaurant, store, grocery, bus stop, etc
Great location and suite, but strange pool rules

Stayed at the hotel for six nights and our suite was upgraded to one on the 22nd floor. Excellent position and quiet. The best thing about the hotel is its location. It is right on seashore and you can walk to Waikiki beach in 5 minutes. Major shopping outlets and restaurant within walking distance. The hotel provides towels and chairs to take to the beach. It is a large complex with several shops, a bar and dining. Now, We have travelled extensively and stayed in hotels all over the world but this is the first hotel we’ve ever stayed in where you cannot move your chair by the pool to face the sun. If you moved it just slightly let alone turn it round or move it to a different location, the officious pool attendant was there telling you to put it back exactly as it was. She claimed it was a safety rule. We claim this is rubbish. It was actually dangerous being in the sun with it beating down on the top of you head.
Great Room and View

We had wanted to book a room at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for the week but it was filled for the first few days. Our agent booked us at the Ilikai in a great suite with a beautiful view. When we did move to the Hilton a couple days later we wished we had stayed in the Ilikai! The Hilton did not provide the room we expected and were very disappointed. Would go back to the Ilikai the next time.
Spring break vacation with family

This hotel is a great hotel to stay at for having a suit to prepare meals in to keep the costs down!! The rooms are very clean and the hotel staff are friendly. The one huge downfall to this hotel is the pool hours. The swimming pool is only open till 7:30pm, which is not helpful after being out all day and having kids want to swim and cool down! The lagoon is closed early as well and for people with small children the ocean is not the best to go into swim at night. I would highly recommend this hotel I just wish the pool hours were longer.
