orlando-destination-skyline-480x320.jpgWhy vacation in Orlando? The city has so many entertaining options the real question isn’t why vacation in Orlando--it’s what do you want to do first? From world-class theme parks and family fun to watersports and a bustling nightlife scene, Orlando has something for everyone.

The City Beautiful is famous for its many theme parks. No less than 32 theme parks make their homes in or around Orlando. Walt Disney World®, SeaWorld®, Universal Studios Florida™ and Busch Gardens® are arguably the most famous (and popular) theme parks but don’t neglect the smaller, less frequented parks like LEGOLAND® and Gatorland®--Orlando’s very first theme park.

Family Fun
Orlando is an amazing family vacation destination. Kids will find plenty to love here, from water parks and rollercoasters to a chance to meet their favorite Disney characters. Local hotels are family-friendly, especially those attached to theme parks, and there’s plenty of fun family restaurants in and around the parks.

Need a break from the kids? Contact your hotel’s concierge to arrange a babysitter and hit the town. From pulsing, exciting nightclubs to romantic rooftop bars and restaurants, there’s plenty to do in Orlando when the sun goes down, including some truly spectacular fireworks displays at the theme parks. Check out Wall Street Plaza and Pointe Orlando for fine dining and some grown-up fun.

Golf Courses Galore
Orlando is a golf lover's dream, with more than 150 courses within a 45-minute drive from the downtown core. Chief among them is the Grand Cypress Golf Course, designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus.

Orlando may not be on the coast, but its central location makes the city a great home base for beach lovers. An hour’s drive will bring you to Cocoa Beach, Clearwater Beach, Daytona Beach, and the thirteen-mile long white sandy beach of New Smyrna.

You don’t have to leave Orlando to enjoy watersports. The city is home to over a hundred lakes, including Lake Eola, a giant sinkhole in downtown Orlando. Parasailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing are popular outdoor activities--or you can enjoy the thrills and spills of the city’s water parks.
